Third man arrested in connection with Niagara human trafficking investigation

Ontario Welland, New Brunswick police trafficking arrested charges

In an update into a human trafficking investigation, Niagara Regional Police announced Wednesday (June 5) they have made a third arrest.

A King man has been charged in connection with the trafficking of person over the age of 18 in the case that was launched back in December of 2023.

Joginder Bajwa, 73 of King, ON., has been arrested and charged with sexual assault.

Bajwa was held in custody pending a video bail hearing, which is expected to take place Thursday (June 6) in St. Catharines.

Police had previously charged Wasim Ahmed, 47, of Maple, and Mohammad Arshad Ghummian, 61, of Mississauga last Thursday (May 30).

Both Ahmed and Ghummian are facing charges for trafficking in persons by recruiting, procuring, sexual assault, forcible confinement, and uttering threats.
