A small section of Niagara Falls is going to sound – very loudly – like it’s in the middle of an action-adventure movie tomorrow (April 6).

The Niagara Police, as well as their Explosive Disposal Unit and Emergency Task Unit, will be conducting training exercises in the Fallsview Boulevard and Robinson Street area of Niagara Falls.

The training will run from 10 am to 4 pm and, well, things may get explosive.

Local residents can expect:

  • The sound of simulated gun fire
  • An increased police presence
  • The sound and feel of explosions
  • The possible smell of smoke

Police says there will be signage in the area to alert people.

They are asking the public and media to stay away from the training sites “for their safety and the safety of the officers involved.”
