Thieves use excavator to rob bank in Whitby, Ontario

Thieves used an excavator to steal an ATM from a bank in Brooklin in a daring early morning robbery today (Tuesday).

Durham Police responded to an alarm call at 3:20 a.m. at the Bank of Montreal at Baldwin Road and Highway 7 (Winchester Road) and arrived to find the excavator the suspects used to smash their way into the bank.

Once inside the suspects stole an ATM and fled in a dark-coloured vehicle prior to police arrival.
