Thieves steal $41K worth of precious metal, cash from Niagara Falls home

A pair of break-and-enter thieves made off with quite a haul of gold, silver, platinum and cash from a Niagara Falls home in late November, Niagara Police reported today.
The suspects broke into a home in the Mountain Road and January Drive area at 5:35 pm on November 27 by smashing in a glass door.
Before long, they found the home safe and forced it open. Once inside, they grabbed $41,000 in gold, silver and platinum coins and bars, as well as cash.
Suspect One was wearing a baseball cap, hooded sweatshirt, jogging pants with three stripes on the upper left leg/hip area, a mask, gloves and running shoes.
Suspect Two was wearing a baseball cap, winter jacket, hooded sweatshirt, jogging pants, running shoes, gloves, a mask, carrying a satchel bag across his chest.
The stolen items included:
- 8 pieces of 1 oz Royal Canadian Mint New Style Gold Bar
- 2 pieces of 1 oz Buffalo Gold Coin
- 2 pieces of 10 oz Silvertowne Buffalo Silver Bar
- 5 pieces of 10 oz New Royal Canadian Mint Silver Bar
- 10 pieces of 1 oz Silvertowne Buffalo Silver Bar
- 5 pieces of 1 oz 2021 American Eagle Platinum Coin
The investigation was assigned to 2 District Street Crime Unit detectives. The investigation has been ongoing since that time. Anyone who may have information about this incident is asked to contact detectives at 905-688-4111, dial option 3, extension 1008454.
