Now’s your chance to spot the famous Theodore Tugboat as he makes his way through Mississauga towards his new home in Hamilton.

According to Peel Police Cst. Akhil Mooken, Theodore TOO will be at the entrance to the Credit River around 9:00 a.m. today (July 18).

He’ll then hug the shoreline as he makes his way through the city to Hamilton, also passing through Oakville and Burlington on the way.

For those who don’t know, Theodore Tugboat starred in the CBC children’s show of the same name, which ran from 1993 to 2001 and was eventually broadcast in 80 countries.

Theodore TOO set sail from Halifax, his home for more than 20 years, on June 10, 2021, launching his ambassadorship with Swim Drink Fish, which advocates for sustainability and conservation in the Great Lakes region.

The 65-foot tugboat is slated to arrive to the Port of Hamilton today and he will be accompanied by a convoy of other tugboats and marine vessels, including some Toronto, Peel, Halton and Hamilton police boats.

“He’ll be sailing close to the shoreline on his way to Hamilton, so make sure you give him a wave if you see him!” said Mooken.
