The first week of March in Niagara Falls, St. Catharines and the rest of the region traditionally shows a slow climb back toward normalcy.

With spring just 20 days away, the temperature is starting a crawl towards to regular above-zero weather. The average temperature in this region on March 1 is +2.3C.

By March 7, that has shifted one degree to an average of 3.3C. As we said, a slow climb but in the right direction.

Tomorrow (March 2) offers the only blip in the trend as it may climb up to 6C, though mostly overcast.

As the weekend closes in, there could be some light snow but at this point, Environment Canada has offered up nothing in the way of a weather warning for Niagara.

Earlier this week, it appeared that Friday’s snow might be an issue but at 1C, whatever accumulates won’t last long.
