The Heather, which took Barton Street by storm with Chef Matt Cowan's intimate upscale fine dining, has re-opened on one of Hamilton's most bustling blocks.

The Heather made quite an impact when it opened in Hamilton in 2016.

The 12-table chef’s table-style eatery on Barton St. opened to rave reviews and a long waitlist of customers looking to taste Chef Matt Cowan’s creations.

The long-time Toronto-area executive chef saw something in Hamilton and decided to bring his award-winning seasonal dishes to the city.

Last year, however, The Heather (named after Cowan’s mother) closed its doors amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Now, it’s back.

Chef Cowan has launched The Heather on Locke, bringing his famous creations to one of Hamilton’s most bustling blocks.

Opening Oct. 26, 2022, Cowan is setting up shop inside Modern Design Studio at 215 Locke St. South.

Dinner will be served at an intimate eight-seat chef’s counter by reservation from Wednesday to Saturday, starting at 7:30 p.m.
