The drastic price differences for concert tickets in Canadian cities

Concert ticket prices can be exorbitant these days.

Last fall, some fans spent well over $1,000 to see Taylor Swift in Toronto.

Later this year, Katy Perry will be coming to Canada with stops in Vancouver, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Ottawa, Montreal, Quebec City, and Toronto.

The shows will be part of “The Lifetimes Tour,” which has stops in various parts of the world.

Given the cost of concert tickets these days, INsauga.com has taken a look at how much a ticket costs to see Katy Perry in different Canadian stops.

They can vary greatly in certain cases. The cheapest tickets on Perry’s Canadian tour go for $95.75 in the 400-level of the Bell Centre in Montreal, while in Vancouver, the most expensive ticket — a resale — was priced at $12,650.

These are the Canadian stops of The Lifetimes Tour in the order of the cheapest tickets available in each city: Montreal ($95.75), Ottawa ($96.80 for those who pay with American Express), Quebec City ($110.40), Toronto ($210.60), Winnipeg ($310.05), Edmonton ($338.10), and Vancouver ($345.00).

Below is a broader look prices for Perry’s tour in Canada. The figures below are as of Jan. 30 on Ticketmaster, when searching for one ticket:

Vancouver – July 22 at Rogers Arena

Cheapest: A number of resale tickets are selling being offered, with the cheapest going for $345.00 in 313, row 14. Excluding resale, the general admission “Lifetimes VIP Package” is the cheapest, going for $539.26.

Floor general admission: Two resale tickets were going for $436.99.

Most expensive: In sections 104 and 105, both row 1, platinum tickets go for $2,368.26. One resale ticket was selling for $12,650 in section 315, row 13.

Edmonton – July 24 at Rogers Place

Cheapest: Multiple resale tickets are for sale, with a few going for $338.10 in section 223, row 9. Excluding resale, a platinum ticket for $609.01 in section 104, row 6 is the cheapest.

Floor general admission: One resale ticket goes for $430.10.

Most expensive: Several platinum tickets go for $1,148.00, all of which are in first rows within the 100-level. A few resale tickets are selling for more, up to $2,875.00.

Winnipeg – July 26 at the Canada Life Centre

Cheapest: There are resale tickets available, with the cheapest being $310.05 in section 103, row 10. However, there are tickets available for $229.50 for those who use an American Express Card to purchase.

Floor general admission: Excluding those, the cheapest tickets currently to see Katy Perry in Winnipeg are the floor general admission tickets priced at $387.63.

Most expensive: Watching from section 107, row 1 would set you back $1,774.13 for a platinum ticket.

Ottawa – July 29 at the Canadian Tire Centre

Cheapest: Numerous standard tickets in the 300-level go for $118.05. Those who use an American Express Card to purchase can even get a ticket for as low as $96.80.

Floor general admission: General admission is priced at $388.52.

Most expensive: The “KLUB 143 VIP exclusive experience” sells for $1,037.52. A resale ticket in the 300-level is also going for $1,170.00.

Montreal – July 30 at Centre Bell

Cheapest: There are multiple regular tickets available for $95.75 in the 400-level.

Floor general admission: It costs $425.70 for general admission.

Most expensive: The “KLUB 143 VIP exclusive experience” goes for $1,175.70.

Quebec City – Aug. 1 at Centre Videotron

Cheapest: A resale ticket in section 309 is going for $110.40. Multiple standard tickets in the 200-level are selling for $116.87.

Floor general admission: $409.34 is what it costs for general admission.

Most expensive: In section 112, row A, a platinum ticket is selling for $1,149.80.

Toronto – Aug. 5 at Scotiabank Arena

Cheapest: A number of resale tickets are being offered, with the cheapest being $210.60 in section 308. Multiple standard tickets in the 100-level are selling for $294.50.

Floor general admission: Two resale tickets are going for $608.40 each.

Most expensive: For section 109, row 1 it costs $2,587.88 for a platinum ticket. A resale ticket is selling for $8,190.00 in section 119, row 3.

Perry also has a show at Scotiabank Arena on Aug. 6, which is currently on pre-sale.

As you can see, prices can vary from city to city.

Depending on where you live and what your plans are, you might even be able to save some money by going to see Perry in a city away from home.
