The cost to rent in Brampton is above the national average

The price of rental units for both one and two bedrooms in Brampton are above the national average among major Canadian urban centres.

Overall, Brampton is ranked 17th most expensive in the country for single bedroom units and 19th for two bedrooms based on data from February of this year, according to rentals.ca.

The data, presented by rentals.ca, shows the average cost for a one bedroom in Brampton is $1,554 per month (a decrease of 2.51 per cent from the previous year). The average cost for a two bedroom unit is $1,888 per month (an increase of 6.79 per cent from one year ago).

The national average for rental units based on 38 Canadian urban centres is $1,473 for one bedroom and $1,855 for two bedrooms.

Vancouver has the highest rental rates in the country at $2,239 for single and $3,050 for a double, while Lloydminster, Alberta has the lowest at $739 and $851.
