The Big Apple is on the menu after Burlington resident claims $100,000 prize
A nudge from his wife has helped a Burlington resident earn a top prize with Lotto 6/49.
Michael Madole said his wife always makes sure he adds Encore when he buys a ticket and this time it has paid off.
Madole matched the last six of seven Encore numbers in the exact order in the April 8 draw to win $100,000.
“It’s because of her we won,” he shared while picking up his winnings. “I was going through my emails one morning and noticed an email from OLG that looked a little different. It said I won $100,000 and I couldn’t believe it. I had to log into my computer to see if it was real. My wife was so amazed and excited.”
The 47-year-old father of two plans to pay some bills and take his family on a trip to New York City. “I raise money for Sick Kids during Christmas by decorating our home so this year I will go all out,” he smiled.
The winning ticket was purchased on OLG.ca.
“I feel overwhelmed and very happy!” he concluded.
