One lucky Lotto Max player in Ontario is waking up $25 million richer after Friday’s January 31 draw.
According to the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG), the winning ticket was purchased in the Willowdale area of North York. The jackpot winner has one year to claim their prize or the funds will be returned to the general prize pool.
In addition to the massive jackpot, an Encore prize worth $100,000 was also won through an online ticket purchase.
This marks the second major Lotto Max jackpot claimed in Ontario this year, following a $60-million win in Etobicoke back in January.
The next Lotto Max draw is set for Tuesday, with an estimated jackpot of $10 million.
Since launching in 2009, Lotto Max players in Ontario have won a combined $8.9 billion, including 111 jackpot prizes and 937 Max million wins.
