One of Tesla’s largest charging stations in Canada is under construction in Mississauga.

The new “supercharger” station is being built at Applewood Village Plaza at 1077 North Service Rd., according to posts from Drive Tesla Canada and Tesla Owners Ontario.

Drive Tesla Canada says the new charging station will be Canada’s largest with 32 stalls. Currently, the largest one is in Hope, B.C. with 24 stalls. But Tesla Owners Ontario says it is the largest supercharger station in Ontario.

The 32 stalls will be in the southwest corner of the parking lot, with 24 of the stalls fronting North Service Road and eight stalls built along Insley Road.

Although the stalls are being installed quickly with prefabricated superchargers, the parking lot needs to be repaved and final hydro connections are needed. Drive Tesla Canada says it may take a while for the station to be operational.

But the charging station is welcome news for Tesla drivers as there are limited choices in Mississauga. There is a station at Sherway Gardens and in Meadowvale at 3155 Argentia Rd., according to Google Maps.

“Much needed to take the stress off of Sherway. They are always full,” one person wrote on Twitter.

“Good news!!!!” another wrote.
