There were ten new cases of Covid-19 in Durham yesterday after nine the previous day as concerns raise about a possible fourth wave just as children return to school next month.

The bulk of the cases came from Ajax and Whitby, which reported four new cases each. Oshawa had the other two.
Pickering recorded its third straight zero-Covid day and has only five new cases in the past seven days. Oshawa and Whitby have each recorded 19 cases in the past week.

Clarington and the northern communities of Brock, Uxbridge and Scugog all reported zero new cases yesterday. For Brock, it was their fifth day in a row with no new cases.

Vaccination totals showed a small bump from the previous day with 68.5 per cent of the 12-plus population now fully vaccinated.
