Temporary on-ramp for QEW off Glendale in Niagara-on-the-Lake

While the majority of the Glendale Ave diverging diamond interchange is completed, the on ramps to the QEW are still under construction.

While the construction of the diverging diamond interchange on Glendale Ave above the QEW continues, there’s a couple of wrinkles that still need to be ironed out.

One of those wrinkles is the Toronto-bound QEW on ramp, which is still under construction.

So at the moment, there’s a temporary on-ramp using York Rd and Airport Rd just off Glendale (see map below).

Due to the fact that the Niagara-on-the-Lake campus of Niagara College is located on Taylor Road just off Glendale, the school is telling its students that they “should expect delays and allow extra time to arrive to campus. Please follow posted detour signage and use caution when travelling through the area, as work crews, pedestrians and cyclists may be present.”

The new Toronto-bound on ramp should be ready for traffic sometime during October.
