Special weather statement

We all know the saying  “April showers bring May flowers” and this week meteorologists predict plenty of rain mixed with sunshine including temperatures reaching as high as 16 C in Mississauga, Brampton and other parts of southern Ontario.

It might be safe to say the winter blasts of snow are now in the past (until the end of the year), as warm but wet weather occupy the greater part of this week.

As of today (Apr. 2) the weekend will wrap up with mostly clear skies and sun throughout the day as well as a high of 4 C.

The Weather Network encourages residents in the area to enjoy every bit of Sunday, as rain will be making an appearance almost every day this week.

Monday morning is said to begin with a mix of sun and clouds and a 40 percent chance of precipitation is expected for the late morning and afternoon. Wind speeds could also pick up to 30 km/h.

The good news is temperatures will be sitting at 15 C which means you can leave the extra layers of clothing at home and bask in the glory of Spring.

Environment Canada calls for a cool and cloudy Tuesday with temperatures a little above 5 C and with a 40 percent chance of rain.

Wednesday gives more cloudy weather with a 60 percent chance of showers. Although a gloomy midweek —temperatures will be sitting at 16 C which is the highest compared to the entire first week of April.

It only gets better near the end of the week where Thursday and Friday will bring the sun back into the forecast with temperatures swinging between 6 C – 8 C. This pattern will remain the same going into Saturday with the possible high of 10 C.

With weather this pleasant, you might want to spend some time outdoors or even get a head start on your spring cleaning.
