Teethers and bicycle handlebars recalled due to safety risks in Mississauga and Brampton

Mississauga and Brampton residents should be aware of multiple products that were recently recalled from stores due to potential safety risks.

Quality Bicycle Products Recalls select Carbon Handlebars and Bicycles

Recalled Salsa bikes that were sold equipped with Salsa Cowbell or Salsa Cowchipper handlebars

This recall involves Salsa Cowchipper, Salsa Cowbell, Whisky No.9 12F, and Whisky No.9 24F carbon handlebars. The model name is printed on the handlebar.

The recalled handlebars were also sold with select Salsa Cutthroat, Salsa Warbird, and Salsa Warroad bikes. The bicycle model name is printed on the bicycle frame.

Risk: The recalled handlebars can crack where the brake/shift levers are installed and cause a crash, posing an injury hazard. As of January 3, 2023, the company has received no reports of incidents in Canada, and 37 reports of handlebars cracking or fracturing in the U.S.

What you should do: Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled products and contact the retailer for a free installation of a replacement carbon handlebar or an alternative aluminum handlebar.


Mombella Mini Mushroom Soothing Teether

This recall involves the Mombella Mini Mushroom Soothing Teether, made of silicone, sold in three different colours: green, blue, and pink.

Risk: The guard or shield of the pacifier can block the airway of the user, posing a suffocation hazard to young babies and children. As of December 23, 2022, the company has received no reports of injuries or incidents in Canada.

What you should do: Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled pacifiers and dispose of the product.
