Police have suspended a teen’s driving license after they were spotted going just shy of double the speed limit in a 60 km/h zone in Brampton.
Peel Regional Police said on Friday that officers had pulled over an 18-year-old on Bovaird Drive.
Police say the male teenager was driving in a friend’s car when officers clocked the driver speeding at 119 km/h in a 60 km/h zone.
When police pulled the teen over police say the teen told officers that he was “just having fun.” The joyride ended with a 30-day license suspension for the 18-year-old and the friend’s vehicle was impounded for 14 days.
The traffic stop has police reminding all drivers to slow down and obey the rules of the road.
