Teen charged with possession of replica gun at Pickering’s St. Marys High Secondary

Police have laid charges against a 16 year-old Pickering youth after he allegedly brought a replica firearm to St. Marys Catholic Secondary School Friday.

Police were called to the school just after noon for reports of a student armed with a gun. Officers quickly arrived on scene and took a young man into custody.  A replica firearm was recovered in his backpack.

Due to the immediate response of police and the student being quickly placed into custody a lockdown was not initiated.

The teen has been charged with possession of weapon dangerous to public peace.  He was released on an Undertaking.
