Peel Regional Police have charged a teen for going 122 km/h in a 70 km/h zone in Brampton on Friday.
On Friday (Apr. 14), police caught a driver speeding near Mississauga Rd/Williams Pkwy in Brampton.
Police say they stopped the vehicle and charged an 18-year-old for stunt driving.
His license was suspended for 30 days and the car was impounded for 14 days.
Officers are urging motorists to be responsible by following road safety rules and slowing down their speed.
Recently, stunt driving is becoming a greater concern as it is now a Peel wide problem.
According to City of Mississauga Ward 5 Councillor Carolyn Parrish, who for the past year or so has been pushing Peel Regional Police to take action against the illegal and noisy behaviour at Westwood Square mall in Malton among other areas, police laid numerous charges against offenders across the city in March.
“People may get hurt or someone’s going to get killed,” commented Parrish.
And with warmer weather on the way in spring and summer, it’s a possibility the problem will get worse.
