A Mississauga woman is facing charges after her two large dogs attacked a 13-year-old boy in the city’s east end on Sunday afternoon, sending the teen to hospital.

Peel Regional Police say the boy is listed in stable condition after being set upon by a pair of unleashed dogs outside an apartment building near Rathburn Road East and Central Parkway East at about 2:15 p.m.

“Officers received a call that two large dogs were off leash and actively attacking a young boy outside a residential building,” police said in a news release.

The boy was transported to a trauma centre and is currently listed in stable condition, investigators added.

A 37-year-old woman from Mississauga, identified as the owner of the dogs, is charged with criminal negligence cause bodily harm. Police have not released her name.

The woman will appear in Brampton court at a later date.
