A teenager faces multiple charges following a month-long crime spree that targeted pharmacies in Mississauga, Brampton, Oakville and Bolton.

Peel Police say the crimes took place in January and February of this year at five locations. In several of the cases masked men used a knife to demand cash and prescription drugs.

Three of the robberies took place January 24 an hour apart at locations near Royal Windsor Dr. and Ford Dr. in Oakville, Upper Middle Rd. E. and Trafalgar Rd. in Oakville, and Mavis Rd. and Burnhamthorpe Rd. W. in Mississauga where one of the store clerks was assualted.

Then, on February 24 police believe the same crew struck at the pharmacy at Queen St. and Allan Dr. in Bolton and later at a Brampton location of Gore Rd. and Ebenezer Rd.

Robbery investigators from both Peel and Halton Regional Police were subsequently granted a search warrant on a Brampton home yesterday (March 8) where a person was arrested and crime related property was seized.

A 16-year-old male has been charged with five counts of robbery, five counts of wearing a disguise with the intent to commit a crime, and breaching a probation order. His names cannot be released because of his age.

The investigation continues.
