Teen arrested after another stabbed at St. Catharines high school

Two students at St. Catharines Collegiate High School got into a fight this morning (April 20) that saw one quickly whisked to the hospital with a stab wound.

Niagara Police landed at the school at 10:55 am where they found the 15-year-old male victim receiving medical attention from school staffers.

EMS sped him to an out-of-town hospital where he has since been released and is now at home on the mend.

The 15-year-old suspect, who can’t be named under the Young Offenders Act, was kept at the school by staff members and arrested by the officers.  The involved knife has been recovered.

He has been charged with assault with a weapon and remains in custody, scheduled for a bail hearing tomorrow (April 21) via video link to the courthouse in St. Catharines.
