Targeted shooting in Oakville sends one man to hospital, police say

A man was taken to hospital following an early morning shooting on Sunday in Oakville.

Halton Regional Police say officers were called to the area of Lakeshore Road and Fourth Line around 5:30 a.m. for reports of a shooting.

A man was located and was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police believe the shooting was targeted and say there is no suspect or vehicle description available at this time.

Investigators are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has dashcam footage from the area to come forward.

Police are specifically looking for dashcam video recordings between 5 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. in the following areas: Lakeshore Road and Fourth Line in Oakville; Lakeshore Road between Fourth Line and Southdown Road in Mississauga; Ford Drive from Lakeshore Road to the QEW; and Winston Churchill Boulevard from Lakeshore Road to the QEW.
