The Ontario Regimental Museum’s first live Tank Saturday event of the year will take visitors back to the jungles of the Vietnam War with a look at the military vehicles and tanks used during that devastating conflict.

Admission includes access to the museum that houses the largest collection of operational military vehicles in Canada and nearly 200 years of artifacts, medals, weapons, uniforms and other symbols of military history, from the Fenian Raids of 1866 to the conflicts of today.

The Military Vehicle Conservation Centre will also be open to the public, with more than 60 military vehicles and Tanks on display.

Gates open at 10 a.m. with a Tank Talk at 11 (with a M551 Sheridan) and a live show of tanks and armoured vehicles at 1 p.m. Get up close and personal with a piece of Canada’s military history, with an opportunity to ride in a real military vehicle.

Lunch and full-service bar – with Brock Street Brewery’s Armoured Ale on tap – are open to the public at the historic 420 WING RCAFA from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Admission is $20 for adults and $10 for students and seniors. Cadets, active military and veterans are free.

The museum’s signature Aquino Tank Weekend takes place June 9-11.
