Suspicious persons call leads to several charges in rural Burlington

Shortly before midnight on Jan 29, Halton police say they received a call from a resident of a house in rural Burlington who observed a male and female parked near their house. 

Shortly before midnight on Jan 29, Halton police say they received a call from a resident of a house in rural Burlington who observed a male and female parked near their house. 

“The male and female exited the vehicle and began searching the area with a flashlight,” according to police. “The resident immediately contacted the Halton Regional Police Service and provided a description of the vehicle and suspects.”

Officers say they arrived in the area a short time later and discovered that the vehicle had been stolen in the City of Guelph. Officers then reportedly searched the area and located both suspects who were placed under arrest.

Jacob Malott, 27, of Guelph has been charged with:

  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000
  • Trespassing at Night
  • Breach Probation
  • Fail to Comply with Undertaking
  • Fail to Comply with Release Order

Jennifer Keats, 33, of Guelph has been charged with:

  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000
  • Trespassing at Night
  • Possession of Break-in Tools
  • Obstruct Peace Officer
  • Fail to Comply with Release Order x 2
