Two suspended drivers from Mississauga and Brampton are facing charges for two separate incidents, including one involving a drifting vehicle.

On Wednesday, Aug. 31, officers in the area of Mavis Road and Highway 401 saw a vehicle accelerate and lose traction while turning, drifting across multiple lanes.

Several vehicles at the scene were forced to take immediate action to avoid a collision, according to police.

24 year old Mississauga man Kamran Fozdar was charged with stunt driving, driving while under suspension, driving a motor vehicle with no licence, and obstructing the licence plate.

Police say another recent incident led to charges against a 26 year old Brampton man, who was on driving prohibitions due to Highway Traffic Act convictions.

“Investigation revealed that he was not in compliance with the conditions of his release order and was still operating a motor vehicle within the community,” said police.

During a compliance check on Tuesday, Sept. 6, Ushanth Thangarajah was allegedly found operating his motor vehicle.

He was charged with breach of probation order, driving while under suspension, driving a motor vehicle with no licence, and being a Class G1 licence holder unaccompanied by a qualified driver.

He was held pending a bail hearing and appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice in the City of Brampton.

Both incidents were handled by Peel Regional Police’s Safer Roads Team, which police say is focusing on prolific offenders and re-offenders “who continue to pose an increased risk to our community.”
