Suspects in a triple shooting that saw three people injured including a child under five years old made their getaway in a stolen car from Brampton.
The shooting happened in Toronto around 6 p.m. on Aug. 12 near The Esplanade and Princess Street, the Toronto Police Service says.
Police say suspects pulled into an underground parking garage and at least one person opened fire with multiple shots, striking two adults and a child that were inside a vehicle.
The victims were a man in his 80s, another man in his 50s, and a child under the age of 5, according to reports. The two men were rushed to hospital in serious but non-life-threatening condition while the child suffered “superficial” injuries.
Police say the suspects then fled the scene in a grey 2019 Honda Civic that had been reported stolen in Brampton on July 11.
Investigators located the stolen Honda a day after the shooting, which police say was a targeted incident. Police say a spoiler was removed from the rear of the vehicle after it was stolen and the mounting bolts for the spoiler were visible.
No suspect descriptions have been released but police have shared images of the vehicle and are asking anyone with information on the shooting or the vehicle to contact police.
Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact the Toronto Police Service at 416-808-2510. You can also make an anonymous tip by calling Crime Stoppers at 416-222-TIPS (8477) or visiting www.222tips.com.
