Suspect wanted following a bar shooting in Pickering

A suspect is at large following a shooting at a Pickering bar on Friday night, that sent one man to the hospital with critical injuries.

On May. 5 at approximately 11:30 p.m., Durham Regional Police Service responded to a bar fight at The Harp and Crown Pub located at 300 Kingston Road Unit 9 in Pickering.

Police say during the altercation a 22-year-old man sustained a gunshot wound and was taken to a Toronto-area trauma centre where he continues to remain in critical condition.

Officers believe it was an isolated incident.

Investigators are actively looking for a black man in his early 20’s with a thin build and possibly braided hair. The wanted man was last seen wearing a black sweatsuit with light stripes on the sides.

Police are appealing to anyone who was inside the bar at the time of the altercation and may have any information to that will help in the investigation.

Witnesses with video footage on their cellphones are also encouraged to speak with police.
