Hamilton Police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating the suspect in a North End convenience store robbery.

The robbery took place shortly before 9:25 p.m. on Monday (Oct. 19) at the Hasty Market at 387 Barton St E.

“A lone male suspect attended the Hasty Market,” said Hamilton Police in an official media release. “At the time, he was in possession of a black handgun and he demanded cash from the store clerk.”

Police say the suspect “was able to obtain an undisclosed amount of Canadian currency and then fled on foot, eastbound on Barton Street.”

No injuries were reported in relation to the incident.

The suspect is described as a 6-foot tall, white male with a “medium-to-heavy build”. He was wearing a “dark-coloured” surgical mask, a black hoodie with a Puma logo, and dark coloured pants.
