Suspect sought after sexual assault on Hamilton transit

Police are trying to identify a suspect they believe was involved in a sexual assault on Hamilton Transit.

A woman got off a Hamilton city bus shortly after 11:30 p.m. on May 1. As she exited at the Mud St. and Paramount Dr. bus stop, a man got up from his seat and followed her out. According to police, the man followed her from the stop to a nearby trail where he sexually assaulted her.

Investigators describe the suspect as Indian, in his 30’s, standing approximately 5-foot-8, with a skinny to medium build. He was wearing a black turban and dark clothing.

“There is no guaranteed way to prevent a sexual assault. Sharing the details of this assault is intended to provide the community information, and people are encouraged to trust their instincts,” police said.
