Suspect in three robberies of the same Oshawa convenience store arrested after police raid

The Wentworth St. and Oxford St. Oshawa Circle K has been robbed three times since January - via Google Maps.

Durham Regional Police raided an Oshawa home last night to arrest the man suspected of robbing the same convenience store three times.

Police raided the home on Glen Street. just before 8 p.m. on March 8. The area in the city’s south end is mostly residential, but also home to a public school.

During the raid, police arrested Cory MacKinnon, 33, on 15 charges including armed robbery, disguise with intent, weapon possession and breach of probation.

Police believe MacKinnon was involved in three robberies at a nearby Circle K and a fourth robbery at the Absolute Discount. Both stores are located at 355 Wentworth St, a roughly five-minute walk from the Glen Street. home police raided.

The Circle K was robbed on Jan. 16, Jan. 25, and March 8. In both of the latter robberies, a man entered the store armed with a knife and demanded cash. On one occasion the suspect also demanded cigarettes. The suspect fled the store on foot each time.

The Absolute Discount was also robbed on Jan. 25. Nobody was hurt in any incident.
