Suspect in custody after brandishing toy gun during carjacking in Brampton

Peel Regional Police (PRP) is investigating a carjacking in Brampton.

At 9:41 p.m. tonight (December 10), PRP was called to the area of Peel Centre Drive in relation to a carjacking.

During the altercation, the suspect brandished a handgun and then absconded with the stolen vehicle.

However, due to a coordinated effort by investigating officers, the suspect was located in the area of Williams Parkway and Bramalea Road.

The suspect is currently in custody–the gun they used to steal the vehicle turned out to be a replica.
