Suspect identified after Clarington high school threatened

Durham Regional Police have identified a male suspect from outside the region in their investigation into a threat issued toward a Clarington school.

Last night, May 26, Bowmanville’s Clarington Central Secondary School received an online threat toward its staff and students. Police have not specified the nature of the threat, nor where it was posted.

DRPS went to the school and posted officers to monitor the area later that day. The following day police announced a they had identified a suspect and were “confident” there was no further threat to the school.

As the investigation is ongoing, police have not yet filed any charges. Police have not released the suspect’s identity or an descriptions beyond the fact they are male.
