Suspect fled after stabbing on a Mississauga Transit bus: Police

Peel police are asking the public to be extra vigilant and report any suspicious behaviour in the wake of a stabbing incident that took place on a bus in Mississauga.

Police say that shortly after 4:00 pm on Dec. 30, 2022, a victim was confronted by a male suspect while riding on a bus that was travelling southbound on Dixie Rd. near Burnhamthorpe Rd.

According to police, the suspect got involved in a verbal argument with the victim and stabbed them several times before exiting the bus and fleeing the area.

The victim was initially taken to a trauma centre with life-threatening injuries and is now in stable condition.

The suspect is described as a Black male who is about 6′ tall. He was last seen wearing a light-coloured hoodie and a dark jacket.

Investigators are asking anyone with information to contact 12 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau officers at 905-453-2121 extension 1233.
