Peel Region Police have released a suspect description after a teenager was shot in a school parking lot this afternoon.

Shots rang out just after noon on November 18 near The Gore Rd. and Fitzpatrick Dr. Police responded to the scene shortly thereafter. By then unidentified 18-year-old had been rushed to the hospital without an ambulance. Police did not confirm who had taken the teen to the hospital.

There are three schools in the immediate vicinity; Castlemore Public, Cardinal Ambrozic Catholic High and Castlebrook High. Police have not confirmed which school the shooting took place at. However, reports indicate it happened at Castlebrook.

Officers locked down the school when they arrived, but released it shortly afterwards.

At first, the police were unsure of the victim’s condition but later revealed he was in stable, but still life-threatening condition. There also had no suspect description at first but released one a few hours later

Around 5 p.m. police said they were looking for a South Asian man with a light complexion. He stands about 5-foot-9 and weighs around 175 with a slim build. He has short wavy brown hair and was wearing dark-coloured pants, a dark t-shirt and a puffy blue winter jacket when last seen.

Police believe the man is armed and dangerous. They warn he should not be approached, and if seen the witness should call 911 immediately.
