Supermarket opening soon in former Mississauga Walmart location

A new Asian supermarket is opening soon in a former Mississauga Walmart.

FreshPro Food Mart is opening at 7333 Goreway Dr. in Westwood Square Mall. The space has been vacant since the Walmart shut down in 2021.

“Exciting news!” FreshPro posted on Instagram. “FreshPro Foodmart is coming soon to Mississauga! Fresh fruits, quality vegetables, a wide variety of groceries. And many more surprises waiting for you!”

The Ontario-based grocery store chain FreshPro, not to be confused with FreshCo, has locations in Richmond Hill and Brampton.

FreshPro sells produce, seafood, meat, along with Asian groceries.

The grand opening date has not yet been posted.

This is the second Asian grocery store opening in Mississauga this spring.

T&T Supermarket Inc. announced its new location at 3060 Ridgeway Dr., north of Dundas Street West, near the Oakville border on April 9.
