Super cheap $15 trips from Toronto to Montreal now available

Super cheap travel from Toronto to Montreal is now on offer.

Summer officially starts next week on June 20 and those looking for a budget getaway may want to check out a new option.

Megabus is offering discounted seats for as low as $14.99 from Toronto to Montreal, and $9.99 from Toronto to Kingston. The sale is for summer travel between June 24 and Aug. 27.

MegaBus notes fares are based on availability on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays, and exclude trips on June 28, July 1, July 2, Aug. 2 and Aug. 5 to 6. Discounted trips may sell out and are only available when booked at least two weeks in advance.

Regular price Megabus tickets from Toronto to Montreal start at about $60.

Train service to Montreal from Toronto starts at $55.

While it’s not far away, a trip to Quebec can feel like a European destination.

Top things to see Montreal include the historic neighbourhood of Old Montreal with cobblestone streets, shops and restaurants, the Jardin botanique de Montréal, one of the best botanical gardens in the world, and the city’s oldest Catholic church, built in 1656, Notre-Dame Basilica.

Foodies will want to grab the famous Montreal-style bagels and a smoked meat sandwich.

For a shorter trip, Kingston is a good choice. Known as the Limestone City, Kingston is home to grand 19th-century buildings, including the lakeside city hall.

The Kingston Pen, Canada’s oldest penitentiary, is also open for tours in the summer.

Another low-cost option for bus travel is FlixBus with several destinations in Ontario, including cottage country and major cities such as Ottawa, London and Niagara Falls.
