The sun in the blue sky.

This week’s weather forecast might keep the winter blues at bay for Mississauga and Brampton residents as sunshine and warmer temperatures are expected.

According to Environment Canada, as of today Sunday (Mar. 19) temperatures will remain steady at 1 C but the wind chill will make it feel like -14 C. There is also a 30 percent chance that the region will see flurries, and wind speeds up to 50 km/h.

Monday morning will bring a high of 6 C with cloudy periods and sunshine throughout the day before dipping down to -1 C.

The weather doesn’t look much different on Tuesday, as there will still be a mix of sun and clouds with temperatures reaching up to 9 C.

Residents may want to seize the day by running those errands or going for that brisk walk, as rain is set to occupy a majority of Wednesday.

The Weather Network predicts a 70 percent chance of rain on Thursday, starting in the morning and staying consistent until late afternoon. The best part is that the temperatures will shift into the double digits reaching 13 C giving off the feeling that spring is near.

This is the warmest weather southern Ontario has received in a while. Enjoy it while you can, as it is brief because Thursday evening will be chilly as temperatures drop to 1 C.

Meteorologists report that with the arrival of Friday and much into the weekend, we can expect both sun and clouds in forecast with a high 6 C.

This is could mean that with very little snow for the upcoming week, and the official day of spring falling on Monday (Mar. 20) we are on track for even more warmer days with temperatures in the double digits.
