Scorching temperatures are on the way for southern Ontario this week, with daytime highs climbing into the mid-30s and feeling as hot as 38 C before cooler weather arrives.

Here’s what the weather will look like for the week of July 12 to July 18:
Sunday will be clear with an overnight low of 16 C.
Monday will be sunny with a high of 33 C, although the humidex will make it feel more like 38 C. Winds will pick up to 30 km/h during the afternoon.
The UV index will reach a very high 8. Environment Canada recommends taking precautions when the UV index reaches 3 or higher, including wearing sunscreen, sunglasses and protective clothing while limiting prolonged sun exposure during peak afternoon hours.
Monday night will be clear as winds become light. Temperatures will remain warm with an overnight low of 22 C.
Tuesday is expected to be the hottest day of the week, with sunny skies and a high of 35 C. Clear conditions will continue overnight with a low of 23 C.
Wednesday will bring a mix of sun and cloud with a 30 per cent chance of showers, while daytime highs will hit 32 C. Cloudy periods will begin overnight as temperatures cool to 18 C.
Thursday will feature a mix of sun and cloud with a high of 30 C. Cloudy periods and a 30 per cent chance of rain are forecast overnight. Temperatures will drop to a low of 16 C.
Clouds will move in on Friday, bringing a 30 per cent chance of showers and a high of 28 C. Cloudy skies will continue as temperatures fall to 15 C.
Saturday will wrap up the week with mostly cloudy skies and a 30 per cent chance of rain. Temperatures will reach a high of 28 C before easing during the evening.
