Summer construction on Whitby bridges and roads expected to wrap up soon

Summer construction season continues in Whitby with several road and sidewalk projects finishing in the coming weeks.

Work on the Dehart Bridge (the northernmost bridge on Way Street, south of Carnwith Drive) includes minor spall repair, beam reinforcement works and in stream improvements. This is expected to be finished on Sept. 23.

A construction project on Turk Pond Access Road includes fine grading and paving for a multi-use path to a new pedestrian bridge — expected to be complete on Aug. 15.

And road reconstruction projects in the Canadian Oaks Dr. area include removal and replacement of curb/ sidewalk, pulverizing of road followed by new base and top asphalt, driveway and sod restoration. The work will be on Canadian Oaks Dr. from Thickson Rd. to Rossland Rd.; Citation Cres.; Evergreen Dr. from Canadian Oaks Dr. to Hazelwood Dr.; Preakness Court and Winners Circle. This work is slated to be completed on Aug. 15.

Road reconstruction on Boundary Rd., Crown Court; and Dryden Blvd. from Thickson Rd. To Oshawa is scheduled to be done on Aug. 30.

Crews are also installing a new sidewalk with boulevard restoration on Annes St. from Burns St. to Dunlop St. That work should be done on Aug. 15.
