‘Sudden death’ of 2-year-old boy in Cambridge prompts investigation

Police say they are investigating the “sudden death” of a two-year-old boy in Cambridge.

Waterloo Regional Police said that at around 6 a.m. on Monday, officers responded to the area of Beverly Street and Dundas Street North for a report of a missing child.

The boy was found unresponsive when officers arrived and life-saving measures were attempted, police said.

He was taken to a local hospital but was later pronounced dead.

“The investigation remains ongoing, however there is no concern for public safety,” police said.

No further details were provided.
