The first-ever Durham District School Board Student Art Gallery opens to the public Thursday with the theme ‘A Place for Everyone.’

The gallery is a student created and curated district-wide art collection housed in the Education Centre as art students from grades 7-12 tapped into their creativity to showcase their own unique stories and express how school is an inclusive place for everyone. All artworks in the gallery focus on student aspirations or inspiration regarding human rights, equity, inclusion, diversity, and belonging.

The doors open for the exhibit at 6:50 p.m. at 400 Taunton Rd. E, Whitby, with the program getting underway at 7:20 p.m. and the ‘unveiling’ scheduled for 7:35 p.m.

More information can be found on the board’s website at ddsb.ca.
