We’re a week away from Christmas, and a major winter storm may interrupt holiday travel plans later this week.

A large and potentially disruptive storm is expected to impact the region this Thursday and Friday (Dec. 22-23).

Significant snowfall or a mix of rain and snow is likely, but it’s “too early have confidence in the specifics of how this storm will impact our region,” according to the Weather Network.

Those planning on travelling later in the week are warned that the storm may impact travel.

Daytime temperatures this week will be mostly seasonal, hovering around 1 degree Celsius for most of the week and falling to -5 C on Saturday.

A nighttime low of -8 C is expected on Wednesday.
