Workers at eight Mississauga locations of Wine Rack are on strike today.

Members of the Services Employees International Union Local 2 have taken the action after failing to negotiate a settlement with their employer, Arterra Wines, which is owned by the Ontario Teachers Pension Plan.

Issues separating the sides include wages and the scheduling of hours, among others.

It is not known how many workers are affected and if the stores plan to continue operating.

Wine Rack has several locations across the GTA and can often be found inside grocery stores and malls. The stores sell wine and other wine-based alcohol beverages. The company’s head office is located in Mississauga
