Summer’s finally here, and what better place to enjoy it than Streetsville, Mississauga’s historic village in the city?

This summer and all year round, Streetsville is home to over 400 small businesses including a variety of popular restaurants and hidden gem boutiques – all in Mississauga’s most walkable (and bikeable) village community, boasting a picturesque small town vibe where everything is within steps of the core.

For those who prefer to cycle, Streetsville has plenty of bike trails and new bike lanes to accommodate cyclists as well.

It’s also the city’s most historic community, being home to the highest concentration of historical and heritage buildings in all of Mississauga. All these factors combined make it an ideal tourism spot to visit from out of town, and the perfect “staycation” destination for Mississauga residents.

The Streetsville BIA is amping up the fun with a number of summer events, including Staycation Missions to complete and big prizes to win via the GooseChase scavenger hunt app.

Completing the first series of missions from July 1st to July 21st will have you entered into a draw to win two tickets to the OneRepublic: Never Ending Summer Tour on July 27th at the Budweiser Stage! More details are available here.

That’s not all – catch live outdoor concerts happening every Friday (starting from July 8th) at Streetsville Village Square. A number of talented performers will take the stage, playing everything from hip hop and R&B to an eclectic mix of jazz, blues and rock.

There’s also Salsa in the Square every Saturday – learn the art of salsa dancing from experienced dance professionals.

Or, check out the Summer Market every Saturday where vendors gather at Queen St S and Main St to sell their assortments of food, baked goods, art, jewelry, and much more.

Streetsville remains one of the city’s hottest shopping destinations, with a wide range of shops and boutiques selling everything from fashion to beauty to health and fitness, and even some niche offerings you won’t find anywhere else.

When all that shopping has you famished, Streetsville has no shortage of incredible restaurants, many with spacious patios perfect for enjoying the summer sun. You’ll find burger joints, ice cream parlours, pubs, cafes, and restaurants serving delicious Mexican, Greek, and Italian cuisine, to name just a few.
