Street MoMos and Indo-Nepalese Asian cuisine arrives in downtown Oshawa

Nepalese cuisine is now a thing in downtown Oshawa.
Street MoMo – “real food, real taste” – is now open at 19 Simcoe Street South.
Chef Rajan, born in India, grew up in Nepal and worked 10 years in different Asian countries as a chef in high-end hotels and is now sharing his experience and introducing his version of Asian cuisine to Oshawa and Durham Region.
Since his arrival in Canada 10 years ago he has opened several restaurants in Scarborough and Whitby. Now he’s bringing his multi-cuisine to the city of Oshawa.
Signature dishes include starters like Tom Yum Soup, Mango Salad and Crab Rangoon; several types of momos, from Tandoori to Steamed; popular Indian dishes like Butter Chicken and Paneer Tikka; and vegetable options, such as Aloo Gobhi Masala (florets of cauliflower prepared with potatoes, peas, onions, tomatoes spices and garnished with cashew nuts) and Chan Masala.
Chef Rajan used a Nepali name for his new restaurant, Street Momo. The word ‘momo’ means dumpling in English. Momos are the most popular food in Nepal.
