The snow has been (mostly) cleaned up, the freezing rain and ice pellets have ceased their chatter and the region has made it through a strange 36 hours of weather.

No cats or dogs or biblical frozen plagues have fallen from the skies so all that’s left is to deal with the cold, with the temperature sitting at -11 C at 8 a.m. Friday morning, rising to -8 later today. Temperatures will fall to -16 (minus 22 with the wind chill) tonight but relief is in the future, with a forecast of +2 by Sunday.
