Update: Alectra crews have the outage down to 341 homes around Stoney Creek’s St. Andrews Dr and Quigley Rd area. They anticipate the lights will be back on by 9 p.m., nearly four hours later than their initial estimate.

A power outage in Stoney Creek is expected to be brief for the some 1,500 affected customers.

Alectra Utilities said shortly before 5 p.m. on Monday that the outage is in the area of Barton Street and Brockley Drive to Nash Road N. and King Street. Crews are investigating and the utility company is now giving a timeline of 7 p.m. for the expected time of resumption of services. Initially, it said the hydro would be back on around 5:30 p.m.

During an outage, any controlled intersections without working traffic lights should be treated as four-way stops.

Alectra’s progress with restoring service can be tracked at horizonutilities.com.
