A Stoney Creek man faces two counts of driving while impaired by drugs, following a traffic stop in Caledonia early last Saturday.

The Ontario Provincial Police says that officers at its Haldimand County Detachment received a report of a suspicious male in a motor vehicle on Argyle Street North around 3:22 a.m. on April 30. The OPP says that the responding officers detected signs of drug consumption while speaking with the driver. The driver was transported to a local police service for additional testing.

As a result, 27-year-old Marko Savic of Stoney Creek is charged with the following offences:

  • Driving a motor vehicle while impaired by drug
  • Driving a motor vehicle — blood-drug concentration above the legal limit

The driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was impounded for seven days. The accused will appear in a Cayuga court at a later date to answer to the charges.
