Stolen vehicle recovered and woman charged for impaired driving in Mississauga

Peel Regional Police have taken a Mississauga driver into custody early this morning, for impaired driving after her car which is believed to be stolen, struck a pole and she was seen fleeing on foot from the scene.

On Friday (Apr. 7) at approximately 6:10 a.m., police responded to a call for a collision in the area of Dundas St W/Glen Erin Dr in Mississauga.

Police say a single vehicle crashed into a pole knocking it down and the headlights on the car appeared to be out.

The woman was seen fleeing from the collision on foot, but officers say they were able to locate her.

Further investigations revealed, the vehicle the woman was driving in was stolen and she was taken into custody by police where she was charged with impaired driving offences.

No injuries were reported from the collision.

Police have reduced lanes at the intersection of the crash due to a traffic light pole on roadway.
